#96 David Smothers – New Class in Bristol Grey.

And one day, we were over at, uh, my brother's friend's dad's house, and he had a, an old garage that had several cars in it.

Uh, he was mostly Alfa Romeo, but there was a BMW 2000 CS, 1967-

Nice

... that was sitting there.

And I just thought, I had never seen one before.

I thought it was super cool.

Um, it was Bristol Gray.

I, I loved the color, and, and I asked him if he would sell it to me.

And, and he said no, that at, at that point he was not interested in, in selling it to me.

Yeah.

And so it was maybe 10 years later, I got a phone call from him, and, and he was ready to sell.

And, um, and that's how I acquired my first, uh, BMW.

It was the '67 2000 CS, and I, I still have it today.

It's been a, a long project.

Um, it, it took probably five years to get it on the road.

Every system needed to be redone.

Yeah.

Um...

I mean, y- so you, you just mentioned that you went over to, to a friend of your brother's, uh, father, the garage, and you said there was, uh, like, focus on, on Alfa Romeos.

And I mean, we know that they have, uh, Italians have wonderful designs.

And, uh, I would like, uh, to understand a little bit, at that age, where you were there, um, why did the BMW stand out to you?

Well, I remember that, uh, I could see the, the, uh, the roofline, and it had-

Mm-hmm

... that pillarless look, and I thought that was a really elegant look.

And looking back, the tires were flat, and so it looked really low.
