102: Letting Your Inner Child Play // with Evin Terranova

And I actually know Evan because I've been to the Inner Child Theater Camp.

What is that, you ask? Frank, did you ask?

What is that?

So what is that? So Evan created a theater camp, musical theater camp for adults.

She was realizing, and you'll hear this on the episode, but she was realizing that she missed theater and she, She's like, there's no theater camp just for fun, for adults.

Once you hit a certain age, everyone tells you, stop having fun, basically.

That's the message that you get all the time.

Yeah.

you know that's for kids or whatever so

well also like i've noticed that you know sometimes the whole like community you know once you're out of school or whatever there's no official like theater program for you to like participate in anymore and this is i'm i'm not i was never a theater kid i'm on the outskirts

but i always wanted to you know

But once you're out of school, like, you know, going and joining a community theater, like maybe some of the spark is gone sometimes.

Not all the time.

It really depends on the program you get into.

Well, part of it, too, is that there's so much competition.

It becomes really like this thing of judging yourself against other people.

And, you know, then you get into the rat race of like auditioning.

And it does take some of the fun out of just playing.

So that's also, can

I just say one thing? And maybe you can adjust your programs accordingly, but when a 12 year old and a 50 year old are up for the same part,

maybe we need some age

brackets involved.

Wait, wait.

In what world?

I'm just saying, I'm just saying, you know, if someone's like, Oh, like this little girl would make a great Annie, but you know what? Carol's been here for 60 years.
