Get a Grip

Jacob, Jacob was born in the midst of a fight, in the midst of a wrestle.

The Bible shows that when he was born, he had a firm grip on Esau's leg.

shows me he learned how to wrestle while he was still in the womb.

And his first wrestle was against someone bigger and hairier.

But his battle was for firstborn rights.

There was a struggle going on.

He wanted to be the firstborn.

I don't know.

I just know that we're all created in God's image.

And I know that he knows us better than anybody else even before we're born.

I don't know what he'd put in Jacob's spirit even in the midst of that womb.

But the Bible shows us that he was in a wrestle right from the womb.

I'm talking to a bunch of people this morning.

in the year of harvest, and you still find yourself in a wrestle, because you're wrestling for everything that God has got for you.

You know God's promises.

You've heard them.

You've read them for yourself.

You've got them on the post-it notes on your fridge, and you're not letting go.

You're in a wrestle.

This morning, this word is for someone who's in the midst of a wrestle for a son or a daughter or a loved one's salvation.
