So we're going to take a look at Hebrews chapter 5.
So if you have your Bibles, open them up.
It's going to be here on the screen.
I'm just going to read it for us this morning.
And so the writer says this in verse 11.
About this we have much to say.
And it is hard to explain since you have become dull of hearing.
Ouch.
For though by this time you have ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God.
For everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness since he is a child.
But solid food is for the mature.
For those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.
So he starts off in verse 11 saying, so about this thing, we have a lot to say.
So we're kind of left wondering, well, what is this thing that you want to tell us so much about? And in the book of Hebrews in chapter five, we begin to look back at the beginning and the writer is talking about the fact that Jesus is a better high priest and talking about these things to these hearers.
And so what he's saying is like the main thing theme of the book of Hebrews talks a lot about this, that Jesus is better than everything.
And for us to understand these concepts.
And so he, Jesus fulfills and surpasses all the old Testament revelations, the priesthoods and the sacrifices.
He mediates a new and better covenant offering eternal salvation for everyone who believes in him.
And so because of this, we understand and know that not everyone chooses to believe in this as truth.
And we begin reading and finding out a little bit of more of a picture of what the writer is trying to explain.
And we found this in Hebrews chapter four, verse two.
Here's what he says in this part.
He says, for good news came to us just as to them.
So we have these two groups.
