Daily Mass: Will we stand up for the Lord?

Let this passage sink in.

"Everyone who acknowledges me, I will acknowledge before the angels of God." That's great news.

But to deny, to deny, that also carries a significance.

If, if we deny Jesus, then He'll say, "I, I don't know you.

You never reached out to me.

In fact, you rejected me, and you rejected what I did for you.

You even reject my saving death and resurrection for your immortal soul." And that gets at the heart of this blasphemes against the Holy Spirit.

A lot of people question what does that mean.

To blaspheme against the Holy Spirit is to reject outright that God has the desire and power to redeem us.

It is to say, "Oh, God could never forgive me.

God, God, God couldn't love me after this.

God can't accept me back." That rejection, that blasphemy.

God is love.

God is love.

We have that in the letters of St. John.

God is love.

[laughs] God's love, my friends, is, is complete and entire and universal.

And when someone says, "No, no, God, God can't love me now," th- that's, that's, that's putting ourselves in a place where I wish to live in the darkness because I don't believe that there is any light for me.

And that's a terrible, terrible, terrible falsehood.

God is love.
