🎙️Carrie On! What if the woman you’re trying so hard to become isn’t someone new at all? What if she’s the woman who was there before the world told her to be quieter, nicer, smaller—and definitely…
Heather A. LeeGuestKeri MurrayHostSo what does someone have the potential to tapping into, you know, when they go through this process or accessing? working with you.

Well, on the sort of science side of it, so the psilocybin, you know, it acts on your serotonin receptor.

So some of the things that go on in your brain is it quiets your default mode network, which is that part of your brain that's wired to say, this is who I am, this is who you are, this is what the world is.

You're in this highly neuroplastic state where you now can create new neural pathways and literally rewire your brain and update those outdated narratives.

So for example, when we talk about women playing small or being told to be quiet, don't take up too much room, sometimes something comes up on the journey where you recognize, why was I quieting myself? I really want to be bigger.

You get these you know, images and stories that show you how you've been playing small and how you can really be more expansive.

And so while you're having that experience in this journey state, you're rewiring your brain around that outdated narrative.

So the beauty of this medicine is that we're able to really create new neural pathways to update those outdated patterns of thought, behavior, belief, narratives.

We're literally rewiring our brains versus, you know, pharmaceuticals, which just treat a symptom.

This is giving you the opportunity to really heal some of those stories that maybe you're carrying in a way that continue to keep it as a stored trauma or negative message.
Yeah, and it reminds me of the article you recently wrote in LinkedIn, which I'll also put in the show notes because you guys have to read this, where you talked about, I'm going to read it, your article described women as spending a lifetime being metaphorically dosed with messages to stay small, quiet, and accommodating.
All these women responded to you about the idea of you saying being dosed and what that means.
Explain a little bit more about how women are being dosed metaphorically in today's society and for years.

Yeah, well, I think it's all of those, you know, we're living in a time when we are feeling the whole dynamic of the patriarchy, male, female dynamics and energy.

And some of it is us waking up to that, that like what I've gotten dosed with these messages, these micro-dosed, really, it's like little messages across our lifespan, telling us things,

know, in my own, for my own example, you know, I was never very good at math.

And I now know I have something called dyscalculia, which is like math dyslexia.
