We will jump in firstly to that quarterfinal, which was played on Tuesday night this week between Lions FC and the North Sunshine Eagles of Victoria.
Uh, it was, it was very interesting going... a very, very different feel going into this game, uh, that you would dare say that Lions in the Round of 32, in the Round six- 16 were probably the underdogs against A-League opposition.
They go into this quarterfinal as probably as heavy favorites, not only the home field advantage, but also as well, uh, against a, against a team that is now as of 2027 with two tiers below them in Victor- in the Victorian, uh, Two League, which, uh, which, uh, unfortunately North Sunshine Eagles did get relegated to.
They played like they were favorites, and they put this one to bed just before halftime.

They certainly did put the game away inside the first half, didn't they, Kurt? And that's the most impressive thing for Lions FC in this game that Adam is referring to there.

But in this game in particular, they are used to being the favorites, of course, up here in Queensland in most of the games that they play.

But on the national stage, they took that, took that mantle and ran with it last night, didn't they?

They, they really wanted to prove a point too in getting the, the job done as, as quickly as possible against, you know, uh, against Nor- um, North Sunshine Eagles too, who certainly produced a couple of cup sh- uh, cup upsets, a- as they say, um, getting to, to this stage too.

But you, you felt, Scott, that even their win against Heidelberg too, like, yes, it was a wonderful win for them too, but coming up here, uh, in a short space of time, playing Lions when they've probably been the form side, not only just in Queensland, but arguably in the Australian Cup.

The one thing I noticed in this game, Kurt, I don't know if you saw it from your perspective as well, from your vantage point, but they were v- North Sunshine were very compact and defensive right from the offset of this game.

In the first five minutes, they sat back really deep, compact, and tried to hit in transition.
