Before we go into the details and some of the people you met along the way and, of course, your book, which we'll discuss, why?

I actually was at an American football conference a handful of months after doing this.

And a fairly famous NFL quarterback, Andrew Luck, retired NFL quarterback, came up to me.

I'm only half joking about that because I've been sort of a nerd for polar exploration and read everything there is to read about Ernest Shackleton, who's a famous polar explorer from the early 20th century.

And I've always wanted to go, but I'm, you know, I thought you had to be like a researcher, somebody, you know, scientist.

But I've never been a fast runner, but I love taking on increasingly unhinged challenges.

I try to keep up with my age and the number of countries I've been to and I'd fallen a little behind.

But the logistics, although I do live in New Zealand, so there are ways of getting there.
