I'm obviously very honored to have been, you know, I've been doing this 30 years, Dean's been doing it 50, and we've seen the landscape change over time, talking about really what people need to know and be aware of as business owners on how these shifts are changing and how it's going to impact them.
Well, yeah, right, because back in the day, Dean, you and I, the old school, the old guard, how many hours
asking you to work? It's pretty brutal, you know, 60 hours and tax season's work.
pretty tough and and uh it's still somewhat that way but the the young people today really don't uh buy into that so much so you have to be a little bit more sensitive to their you know 48 hours and manage things a little bit better right
So like what have you and your firm done to maybe be a little bit more accommodating to these new recruits?
Well, you know, a lot of it, it's not so much unique now, but, uh, you know, early on, uh, we accommodate pretty variable hours and having people, uh, uh, have different, you know, hours and accommodating, you know, the women, uh, and everybody essentially.
But if, uh, they want to come in earlier and leave and see their kids soccer game or come in later, uh, or work Saturdays and maybe not Friday.
So essentially accommodated and then, uh, in home work, uh, prior to COVID, we were pretty good about, uh, having everybody set up with, uh, computers at their house in case they got sick or, uh, whatever.
If there's a way to get the work done, help serve our clients, and, you know, we can be flexible.
And then COVID changed all that significantly where, you know, prior to, yeah, COVID, kind of people expect you to come to the office and then almost overnight, right? Oh, you can work from anywhere.
