Pierce's...
It's an excellent book.
It is really entertaining as well.
Although I think I heard somewhere Stancliffe saying that entertainment is the one goal he has in writing, which I don't.
I think maybe it's just him being modest and underselling himself.
Because, yes, he is very entertaining.
This book is very entertaining.
Particularly, he writes action scenes excellently.
And the entire central third of this book is just one long action scene, basically, that he manages to pull off, keeping the tension going for that long.
He manages a lot more
than that.
I felt absolutely frazzled at the end of the third section.
The anxiety that he was able to keep going that's just shot through the protagonist of that section and the situations that he finds himself in.
It's definitely very cohesive
in that sense.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I would also say, I would also say that I agree that art should generally speaking be pleasing.
I think that is, I think that, you know, saying that, you know, the entertainment value, right? I think this does more than entertain, but I think that being pleasing should be generally a goal of aesthetics.
I'd say it's a tool to something deeper.
I think if the entire point of it is simply to be entertaining, then it becomes almost pornographic.
It just
becomes...
I would say necessary, but not sufficient.
Yeah.
Yeah.
