There were things we liked about the Kpop comebacks this August and things we didn't, but we definitely appreciated that Red Velvet, ARTMS, KiiiKiii, JEONG EUNJI, ROCKY, MJ, ENHYPEN, and SF9 all…
they they came back with velvet summer the album and surfing boy the title track so why don't i go ahead yes all right superb music as usual from red velvet I thought this was a great album I like all of the songs orchestra is so good hula hoop is a lot of fun it's a very red velvet album so how could I be disappointed the title track is really really good I do think that the siren concept okay I wish the siren concept was carried out and developed further in the music video in the style that it was in the concept photos I really loved the concept photos and my favorite ones were the ones with all of the glitter and the blue night sky and stuff, but the music video never looked like that.
And so I was a little bit disappointed because I was really excited for it, but it didn't happen at all.
Like nothing in the music video looked the way that those concept photos looked.
I didn't see the concept photos, but I had a concept photo in my mind of what a siren mermaid sort of fantasy aesthetic would be.
And I too was disappointed that they did not go further.
It's not like what they did wasn't... still beautiful and like they didn't still have some elements like they literally would go so far as to have webbed feet but literally like they just I was looking for more I was still like scales glitter
like to a
bigger extent not just white like ugh
Yeah, they could have even gone further in the concept photos if they wanted to, but I really did like that direction.
And those photos specifically, whenever I talk about Midnight Kiss by IVE, that's like pretty much exactly the vibe that I imagine when I hear that song.
So just saying, I really like that vibe.
but the music video yeah like it was a well-made video i think it really captured that that cheesy romance fantasy novel vibe you know like whenever you whenever you see like a parody of that type of vibe or something like that, that is that, and I was getting that and like, you know, the, the transitions in the video and stuff like that.
Totally, totally the vibe.
Like I get what they were going for and I think they did it well.
And I love the fact that Joy was writing all that.
Like it was really funny.
Like I, I think those scenes of Joy writing really added a lot to the music video.
I didn't even notice that.
Oh, well, yeah, I thought it was good.
And the fish carrying backup dancers were really hilarious.
And I love that all the members memed that.
Like they had a band sign.
I think it was like Joy, Yeri, and maybe Irene were like pretending to like lug fish around in the back while other people were dancing.
And it was funny.
And so, yeah, like back to the actual song, it's really catchy.
