Over a year in the making, BlushCat's Kpop 101 course is finally out! We explain the creation process in-depth and share behind-the-scenes stories about why making our new Kpop learning content took…
And initially we didn't even have the plan to do this entire thing.
We only thought to do the chalkboard portion of the intro.
So like initially we had to think like, you know, what is this going to look like? How are we going to be making it? And we thought, okay, yeah, it'd be really cute to have this like little chalkboard intro.
right
but it wasn't until i was like pretty much finished with that that i was like oh no i have a really good idea for how we could make the intro like this whole thing that i feel like would be really cute and like really like a whole concept but it's gonna delay us a lot if you like this idea and if we want to try this.
Because I don't even know how to do some of these things that I'm imagining.
But wouldn't it be really awesome? Yeah.
So it's crazy to think that Maybe it would have come out way sooner if I hadn't ever thought of that and we hadn't decided to do it that way.
It would have been way more boring.
But yeah, so the whole journey starts with the chalkboard intro part.
And part of the reason I could remember so easily that we started working on this in October was because...
this project is the whole reason that i switched over to a new editing program da vinci because the editing program that i was using that we've been using for blush cat literally could not do what we wanted to do with the chalkboard drawing oh and i guess i'm so i mean i can remember that it was october that i switched over because i remember one of the first things that i edited with the new program was guilt which i definitely started playing in um halloween time but anyway we wanted to make it look like you could write on the chalkboard with chalk like the the chalk was writing to say kpop 101 and i was like that's such a normal thing that happens in you know videos people totally do that so let me just look up how you do it Literally every way that they said you could try and do this, they're like, use a mask.
Change the mode to lighten mode and do this other thing.
Every single thing that I found on the internet, the program that I was using, did not have it.
It did not exist.
I'm like, oh,
maybe I can do this.
Maybe,
nothing.
I was like, let me just screen record myself writing the word on my computer.
But then there would be a cursor showing and stuff.
It would look like the paint tool was being used or whatever.
So there was just...
There was no other option.
