Blitzscaling Ventures October Deal Review

Well, it just kind of starts to feel like 2021 or 2022.

I mean, the deal count is way up.

The low for the year, which is not too bad, is 64 in August, which is always slow.

And now for October, it's 133.

So that's the two extremes.

But the average so far this year is nearly 100.

Whereas the average in prior years, the last two years has been closer to 70.

So We're up 30% in deal count and I'm not tracking deal dollars, which I think we should start doing that, that

would be interesting, because I

suspect they're way up.

I mean, two of the four deals we're discussing today are $200 million and $500 million in size and early rounds.

So, it is AI that's driving this, it is an exciting time to be an investor.

LPs are pouring money into the large funds.

They have a lot of money to put to work.

They're putting it to work in AI companies.

And it's the battle to see who is going to dominate that landscape.

Notably, Zuckerberg said, you know what? That virtual reality thing I was trying, that's not working.

I'm all in on AI.

And he's completely done it about face.

So the whole world is about AI now.

Everybody kind of knows that, but it's just interesting to see it manifest after we made that call pretty with a lot of conviction a couple of years ago.

Yes.

Well, it's always nice to be right in front of other people, but not too far in front.

If you're too far in front, it doesn't work out so well.

Who knows? VR may happen 50 years from now.
