Commanders' Injury Concerns: What does this mean for Jayden Daniels? Shaky Defensive Start

No question.

You know, the commanders had most of their starters out.

I mean, technically you're starting left side of your lines in there, right? Coleman's in there with Paul, left tackle, left guard.

Offensively, Chanel and Sonny Stiles go with that first group for a series.

They're going to be an either-or starting situation.

Now, let's start with the negative part of the night.

It was certainly that first group that played defense, right? Whether it's starters or not, there's some guys that are going to be counted on to play this year.

Johnny Newton, one of them.

getting moved around, right? Stiles was getting stuck up a little bit, didn't make some other plays.

Those guys, they didn't look great in that opening drive.

Dan Quinn talked about it after the game.

He wasn't trying to make excuses for them, saying, well, this guy's in or that guy's not in.

He wasn't really happy with the way they started the game.

As the game went on, obviously, things got a lot better.

You kind of saw some of that stuff.

But it's also, as you know, It's hard to get too overly excited or too overly negative about these games because some teams don't do any type of game planning, as you know.

Some of them play strictly vanilla base.

Other teams, you know, the Dolphins were kind of embarrassed by the commanders on Wednesday.

I would not be surprised if they used some of the things they saw to their advantage.

Like, okay, we're going to do this to counter that.

And the commanders weren't really in the mood for that early on.

They were just like, okay, we're playing our base.

We're going to see what happens.

So I do want to caution about that part of it.

Now, the other part of it, too, is, again, you've got guys that are never going to play with one another.
