This week's episode of Bigger Than Birth is a first for us — due to the nature of her work, our guest asked to share her story anonymously. We've changed her name to Sophia and won't be sharing video…
Victoria GabaHostYes.
Thank you for having me.
I'm excited to chat.

So before we get started, why don't you tell us just a little bit about yourself and your family and where y'all are from?
Yeah, absolutely.
So it's me and my husband and our one little girl, who is now three and a half months old, plus our dog, Con.
Um, we were technically geriatric preg, uh, parents, so I had our first daughter when I was 35.
My husband was 37.
Um, and I'll just put a plug 'cause I know there's pressure to get married.
I didn't get married until I was 33, so if anyone out there is, like, listening to this and you're just worried that you'll never have the family that you want, it's never too late.
[laughs]

Yep, absolutely, and especially with medical stuff, and I think we've had guests on this podcast prove that 35 to 40, you can still absolutely have a beautiful pregnancy.
Yep.
I was just talking to my dentist actually, who just had a baby at 43, and it was perfectly healthy, so.
[laughs]

So why don't you talk us through if there's anything you wanna share with your fertility journey or kind of finding out you were pregnant.
Yeah, absolutely.
Um, so we kind of had, like, a timeline in mind of when, like, we would ideally like to be pregnant, but obviously you can't plan those things, as much as you try.
Um, so we were hoping to have gotten pregnant in September of last year, but we're like We know that it could often take a few months, so we started last spring, and we're fortunate we got pregnant the first month that we were really tracking things.
Yes.
