EP 613: The Fundamentals Never Lie with John Barklow

I love it.

And I know enough people listen to the show and have spoken with enough people that listen to the show, you know, trade shows and that sort of stuff.

And, you know, I've sat in a room when you've been able to make it up this way and seen the excitement to have the opportunity to learn from and listen to you.

And I, I think there are a lot of people listening to this podcast.

They're going to agree with the fact you have something unique and differentiated to, to share.

And, and, you know, you know, we were, you know, off air, if we want to call it that, talking about some, some clinical

ideas.

Yeah.

Right.

And this was, you know, I won't get into the particulars, but, you know, what I hinted at has changed on my end.

I just had this thought one day, similar but different of, you know, Adam, you can't replace 20 years of doing something with anything but 20 years of doing

something.

Right.

And, and, you know, for anyone that has spent that much time immersed in a given pursuit, um, it's fucking hard to hack that, you know? And, and then you look at your situation, John, you know, when you, you reference a guides or even, you know, other survival instructors and that sort of cohort, um, you know, it was not just who you were working with so closely when,

right.

Was, um, a time I think unlike any other for that community specifically.

And, you know, and I could be wrong on this, but, you know, take your pick of, you know, groups, cohorts, whatever you want to call them, you know, your realm was like your sort of topics are the things we're trying to avoid at all costs, right? Those situations.

However, who you are working with, correct me if I'm wrong, is it's going to happen.

How are we going to navigate this? Pressure testing constantly and constantly and constantly.

This worked, it didn't.

Just like you said, the incubator, this iterative process of stripping away everything that doesn't fucking work to get down to those fundamentals.

I have to think that there are very few people out there who were fortunate enough to be going through that process and, and, and learned what you learned in that process.

Yeah, no, I appreciate you saying that.

I mean, I, obviously I agree.

Yeah, it was, uh, you know, again, mission failure was not, that wasn't an option.
