The buzz this week, Dave, we're gonna talk about the World Bass Enterprises tournament called the Champions.
It is $1.25 million for first place.
Dave, has there ever been a payout this big in bass fishing that we know of?
Absolutely not, Jordan.
This is the highest paying bass fishing tournament that has ever been put on, and I'm excited to see how it goes down.
Yeah, man, me too.
I'm really curious.
I really hope they pull this off because, as you mentioned, this is the highest paying ever.
One interesting stat that we actually have a full interview coming out with Brian Bird, the CEO of World Bass Enterprises, so you guys will have a full, I think it's like 30-plus minute length, more details on this.
But we just wanted to highlight that here briefly because one of the things that I mentioned in that interview is the payout for this tournament is more than the Bass Master Classic payout and the Major League Fishing Redcrest payout combined times two.
This payout is more than that, right? So it's kind of hard to wrap your mind around how extravagant the payout is.
He also mentions in the interview that, for example, last place pays $8,000.
Just by showing up, you get a $3,500 prepaid credit card for any expenses that you might incur, which shouldn't be many, 'cause everything's gonna be covered, including the gas for your boat during the tournament.
Like, the guys that qualify for this are getting the red carpet rolled out and gonna be treated like, I mean, like royalty.
Like, seriously, Dave, you were part of that interview.
I've never heard of anything even close to this.
Like, this is honestly insane.
Absolutely, Jordan.
Unless you've been living under a rock and you follow professional fishing, you have definitely heard about this tournament.
What we tried to do was get a real-time update on how things are going, how everything is progressing, the planning, the sponsorships, the payouts, the adjustments, the trials, the tribulations, everything that is going down over at WBE to make this event happen.
I think we did a really good job about that, and I am really excited to see the full interview, and I think you guys are gonna learn a lot about the updates of exactly what is going down at WBE and how this tournament is coming together.
Yeah, absolutely.
I'm, I'm really excited about this one.
I hope, again, as I mentioned earlier, I really hope that this goes well because for those that don't know anything about it, I'll give you the quick overview.
It's basically the top 25, uh, from the AOY of the elites and of the BPT, so 50 guys total, plus anyone that won an event that's not already qualified, so there could be some double qualifiers.
