Once the Dems Regain Power...

Well, what else can you want? With Labor Day in the rearview mirror, the political season has begun for real.

Let's put it that way.

midterms they've been in people have been running ads for god knows how long already on tv but now it's for real so let me begin by giving you some calci numbers calci is the they call it the predictions platform it's a betting platform and it's where real people put their money where their mouth is and they say that democrats have an 85% chance of winning the House.

That makes sense to me.

If I would quibble with anything, I think that's a low number.

I think closer to 100% chance of taking the House.

As far as the Senate, Calchi, again, ordinary Americans putting money on where they think it's going to turn out, 52 to 48 with the Republicans holding control of the Senate.

But you know, John, 52 to 48 is, as far as I'm concerned, too close to call.

Anything can happen when it's that close.

So should Donald Trump go out and campaign for candidates who may be in trouble? There's an obvious plus, which I wrote about in my column this week.

Donald Trump revs up the Republican base.

He gets the crowd out.

If he tells them to vote, they'll go out and vote.

Whereas on a midterm, They might have sat home.

So that's a plus.

There are a couple of minuses.

One minus is Donald Trump also revs up everybody's base.

He'll rev up the Democratic base.

He'll rev up the independents, the crucial block, the independents.

And they don't like him either.

The independents are no fans of Donald Trump and Democrats, of course, are no fans.

Democrats don't need much encouragement.

They'll come out anyway, but the independents, Donald Trump's presence on the campaign trail may get them out too.

And that's not a good sign for Republicans.

One more thing.
