Welcome to Behind the Bolter with Rhys aka 3's to Wound and Damien aka S0ldierZer0Join us we talk all things Warhammer 40,000. This week we chat: We are 3 codex's and a tone of balance updates into…
But in terms of those changes of what we're seeing, are we enjoying the game, how it feels like it's fitting together? And the thing to sort of note is a couple of people were saying too in the chat as well was, Obviously the big thing here is we're nowhere in the Codex race.
And so obviously because there's been, I think there's been quite big changes to this edition.
I'd say nearly in a lot of ways, more seismic in my, the way I felt affect the game in 11th and 10th.
which was meant to be the big
fix i reckon in a lot of ways yeah um but therefore a lot of
people you think the jump the jump from 10th to 11th is bigger than the jump from and
i might just be it might be age i might it might be dementia i might be getting a bit foggy but but uh and i'll come to why we'll circle back what i was just going to talk about why you've got dementia
when did i say that um
But it's like, obviously, the Codex race, this creep, which is obviously what happens, which is it's such a hard thing.
And I'd say all three of them have been pretty massive successes.
I don't think any faction's been upset so far.
Yeah.
Except for all the other factions who haven't got that because they obviously, these codexes key so well into what this edition is trying to do.
And while Games Workshop has done a fantastic job of trying to bring everything up to speed, without the codexes, there's only so much, you know, you can do because it's...
And as far as I know, and Frick me if you've seen anything different, but... very minimal codex released uh oh this was a huge error or we've made a huge mistake in this space we're gonna we're gonna remove that and change what's you know the fundamental rule that we created initially uh to fix or balance or whatever like very
few
of that and just points adjustments maybe some minor rule changes that i've seen but Really, it'll be like fixing things that were missing or obvious mistakes as opposed to, look, we, you know, sheepishly we really messed up here and we're going to change that fast.
The only thing that I've seen other than that is that custodies have just been Okay.
But they get away with it because their book is so cool.
There's so much depth there that they're really excited to play with it.
But kind of the presentation on the table is just sort of, oh, they're just okay because they're low in model count.
They struggle with missions and they can still die pretty easily and blah, blah, blah.
Am I right on the money there? Yeah, exactly.
I mean, Custode's players too, comparatively last edition, I think their Codex was a good example of one that sort of came out and was a bit of a dead fish.
