Uh, hobbying has been an interesting kind of position for me in terms of the 40K side of things.

I played my, what, third game of 11th edition today and kind of got a little railed by the new Orcs Codex because, frankly, those boys be going fast.

Yeah, I was excited to hear your thoughts on this, having done the Codex review with moi.

Now that you're actually in there playing it, how does the expectations meet up with the reality of going into them?

I feel like a lot of what we said during our discussion was pretty accurate.

There's something about buying a Combat Patrol and it being more than half your army that just is a really good place to be as an army.

A Combat Patrol so good that it's like a Combat Patrol and a half.

I'm pretty sure in the Codex of Custodies they actually have two separate combat troll lists.

What are the big things that stands out to me from the workbook, which I think is.

Power level aside, a better example of an 11th edition Codex done well, right? Like the power level of some of the data sheets, mostly the points costs on the York data sheets were a little crazy, right? And the amount of ignored cover, but that's a separate issue.

But generally, they did a pretty good job of being like, most units will not get two buffs from their detachments unless it is unit plus character.

That was kind of like about the limit.

Exactly.

But we also don't have any more Codexes until next year.

Yes.

We're in that lull now.

But it's like, obviously, the Codex race, this creep, which is obviously what happens, which is it's such a hard thing.

There's three factions now that have their Codexes.

And I'd say all three of them have been pretty massive successes.

Yeah, they are just kind of the best.

I think the Custodes Codex, my thoughts on the detachments aside, that's why Johnny's a 3, is a wonderful design for Custodes.

It does such a good job of making them the lore-accurate brick shithouses they're supposed to be, while just appealing to Timmy in all the right ways.

This is the type of army where Johnny and Spike don't matter.

I feel like there should be even more potential for some combos that I just don't know about.

might go higher than Space Brains on Johnny after Codex.

Yeah,

But yeah, 51% is not a bad place to be.

And the old Codex win rate was around that same point.

Like, it's been a lateral shift.

It plays differently now.

So, you know...

That's good.

Now, what would have been nice is if they had acknowledged it, if they had if there had been a note saying we are aware that there's issues with the Emperor's Children Codex as it's currently loaded into the app.

We are working on addressing that radio silence.
