[upbeat music] Welcome back to today's episode of Beauty Revival, and today my episode is called My Sanity, Not My Vanity.

Uh, that's been one of my sayings that I've said about a lot of things over the years, and so I was just thinking I'll share those things with you because I'm just realizing how much I do to protect my mental health.

And I don't know, I feel like having my own business and being single, I do have to manage a lot of things on my own, and I have to think a lot in terms of always strategizing and being creative, and it takes a lot of mental effort to do what I do.

There's no automatic pilot type thing where you just get up and you go to your job and you get your paycheck and you're working toward retirement.

And therefore, I really value my, my alone time, especially in my own head, because I do a lot of thinking, a lot of processing, a lot of planning.

And because I'm alone a lot when I'm not out working with events or, say, with my daughter, [clears throat] um, I've really come to be expectant of just having my peace, and it's just so important to me and I absolutely love it.

So hopefully that will be inspiring to you if you are maybe newly single or just in a season where you are single, and even if you're not.

I know when I was married, which I was married for like 20 years, I did have to have my alone time, and I was married to an only child, so he got it.

I'd be off at the other end, and I had a lot of independence, which was one of the reasons that it lasted as long as it did.

Uh, the misunderstanding is outwardly things can look like I'm just trying to look good or be perfectionistic or performative with, say, even my house being clean and neat and organized.

But it truly is about how I view the world and how I feel about myself and the things that I do just so that my confidence can be high and I can just know that I'm living at a level that is, like, a high level.

I consider myself a high achiever, and I basically feel like I do that in every aspect of my life, from my workouts to my, [clears throat] um, diet in terms of what I eat and always trying to improve and be healthier, to the supplements I take, to always improving, uh, spiritually, courses that I'm taking, and to what I'm developing in terms of with my own business and content with my... right here today, my, um, podcast or future books, future plans, future collaborations.
