It's probably gonna be the biggest part of my transformational message that I'm working on right now for my speaking gigs.
But it, but it is this, that Epictetus said, and I'm gonna put it in my words too.
Epictetus said, "Life hands us circumstances that we have no control over, no control over, but we have absolute control over our response." Absolute control over our response.
I, I think about that when I was a little girl, and my dad was drinking all the time, and I was growing up in that alcoholic home.
Now, I'm sure it had many, many negative impacts on my mind, soul, and body, and I dealt with those as I grew up.
I used the same tools [laughs] to deal with them as I used when I was younger.
But you know what I think about when my husband left? I had no control over that.
I was devastated, but I knew in my heart and soul that I had absolute power over my response to it.
And sometimes things don't happen overnight, but those same tools that you've learned that aid you in your life will aid you in every area of your life.
A lull my husband used to say, "How you do anything is how you do everything." I was thinking, "Oh, I hope that's how I clean up my car," or is that, mm, 'cause I'm working on it.
