Now she is back with her own interview show for Script Sports titled The Originals.

She is Susie Colbert.

Susie, thanks so much for joining us on the Awful Announcing podcast today.

It's been a few years since we've heard from you much.

Have you enjoyed living somewhat quiet and privately the last few years, or did you miss having that big platform?

That's easy because I've always been... painfully private.

Probably one of the only things I didn't really enjoy that much about the job was just being in the public eye and people thinking that's where you want to be.

The real passion was just sports and being around sports.

And it's a great job to have, but all that other stuff sort of came along with it.

So I have thoroughly enjoyed sort of the, the quiet private time and especially just being able to kind of just dive into time with my daughter, but I miss being busy.

And while I tried to keep myself busy, I miss that part of it.

And given that I do have this kind of specific skill, it made sense to jump back into something like this.

So how about now seeing your name in headlines again? How has that felt the last few weeks? A little

strange.

Like suddenly I'm out in public again.

So yeah, a little strange.

But it's been, I have to say, just incredibly warm and welcoming.

And I think because from the time of my layoff, I mean, I went totally dark.

I did not say anything.

I was still under contract for a year.

So I really...

Wasn't free to speak or to take any job or do anything.

So given that then there was that, there was sort of that natural gap.

And then I kind of learned at that point, had to lean into it a little bit.
