the panchikarana section i thought we talked about it last class how that panchikarana happens so the visually the picture is there in the group you can see so basically the one of the element which is like say if you take akasha that is that number one maybe i can share it here if we need to And that is half of it.
The remaining half will be the other four elements.
That's how all the elements kind of forms.
And why we need to know that is Akasha is not separate what we see as Akasha.
Then when you take the next element, say you say fire, then the fire has air in it, space in it, water in it, everything is in it.
So all the five elements are formed like that.
That five element forms this Stoola Sharira, that is where we kind of left off.
The reason, again, why we are doing that step by step is when we say, you know, the biggest thing we all know from the, you know, I also joked when Anandi asked about the date, ignore it as the body, right? So the biggest teaching again and again, what's coming is I am not the body.
I am not the intellect.
That is how you know Atma because you are not going to know Atma as how you define the an object like, okay, it is cylindrical, it is blue in color, it has a lid, this is water bottle.
That's now how you are not going to define Atma because it is indefinable.
I can define this water bottle because it has a rupa to it it has a form to it so but atma doesn't have a form it doesn't have a name so how are you going to describe it the only way you come to know about it is by negating what it is not So if I have to negate this body, saying that I am not this body, the first question then comes, okay, what is body? So once you know the body is of five elements, then the five elements, okay, what are the five elements? Where are they coming from? So you kind of go backwards step by step.
That is the going inwards, right? Then you know, oh, okay, I said my hands are moving, but actually...
The hands, I am not the hand, the hand is moving.
So you kind of develop that distance to know, to understand that that's why they are taking us like this.
What are you going to do by knowing all these five elements, right? Everyday life, you are interacting with people.
So what if the Akasha is made with other four elements? That's what our immediate reaction would be.
Because immediately we say, I am unhappy.
But if you know this tattvam, if you know how to separate, how to keep that space, you will say, yes, mind is unhappy.
