Rome talked about it a little bit, but the Astros have called up right-hander Ethan Petko.
Pretty exciting 2023 sixth-round pick, I believe, and a guy that I remember writing after the draft, like, well, the Astros, they swung big here.
You know, they got a guy out of college that didn't have a ton of innings, and 20-year-old got him and, you know, obviously wins minor league pitch of the year in 2024, decent year last year, makes it to AAA now, and pretty exciting to see him come up.
Another pick from that 2023 class, Dana Brown's first class, and we'll get to see what he does.
McTaggart said he's going to be making his debut on Wednesday, but what do you like about Pecco?
I texted McTaggart and I said, was he first in the pecking order? And he was like five ha ha ha's.
It's like I wouldn't say it's long overdue, but it's like, well, you know, it finally happened.
I don't know if maybe an opportunity opens up for Pecco to debut sooner if he wasn't banged up to start the year, if he didn't have to go on those rehabs through single A before he got up to Sugar Land.
And he's a perfect example, Jimmy, of a guy like Bryce Mayer, like some of these other pitchers we've seen the Astros do, they just had fastball velocity to him.
I think he added two to three miles per hour on his average since joining the Astros system.
And then 2021, he had Tommy John surgeries that first year when he was at LaSalle before he transferred to Towson where he I'm sorry, where the Astros took him.
But 93-95 on the fastball, it's one of those ones, too, that goes up, touches 98.
