Listener Q&A: Retrograde Shadows, Prioritizing Transits & Missing Birth Times

Today, I am addressing some listener questions.

Uh, this is another one of our Q&A episodes.

I haven't done a full-length Q&A in a while, probably [chuckles] because there were so many interesting transits happening over the summer that I wanted to talk a lot about those.

So I'm gonna work my way back through three that I thought would be really helpful for many of you to hear.

We're going to talk about, uh, what people mean when they say that a planet is in its shadow period, which means we're going to get into the mechanics of retrogrades a little bit.

I may have touched on this a little bit last spring when Mercury was nearing its retrograde station then, but I really think this is worth talking about in more detail here too because this is a timely topic right now because we have two retrogrades coming up this fall with both Venus and later Mercury stationing retrograde in Scorpio.

And these are going to be significant retrogrades with Venus involved especially.

Its retrograde cycles occur much less often than Mercury's do.

Then we'll talk about how to figure out which transits actually deserve your attention because at any given moment, uh, you can have a lot of transits happening, and it can be overwhelming, especially for people who are just starting out, to look at them all at once.

And finally, we'll talk about just how helpful astrology can really be for you even if you don't know your birth time.

What happens if you don't know your birth time and you don't have an easy way to find out? Can you still use a natal chart? Can you still follow transits well? And, uh, are there other ways of setting up a chart if you don't have a reliable birth time? We'll get into all of that.
