I think a big part of this is that there's a huge difference between somebody who appreciates your art versus somebody who buys your art.
think it's actually really different and i think a lot of it is who you're showing your art to i try to use the example of like your best friend's mom probably really likes and appreciates your art but she's not necessarily the person that's going to be a customer of your art and hangs it up in their home And I think that difference is like there's a lot of people that probably care about you and your art and your art making journey, but they might not be in a financial position or in the position where there are collectors or people who are even buying art because that is a very specific kind of person.
So there's really two sides to the coin.
And finding someone who likes your art and also is someone who purchases art is a completely different thing than just people who blanket like your art.

They see your art, then they have to see your stuff enough that they say, oh, I really like Deepti's work.

which is fine I mean we all really like to have supporters and people who enjoy our work but then the transition to get that person over to buying something that is the transition that a lot of artists are missing and why there are these two different groups of people because ultimately The thing that's so important about selling is to figure out who is your audience, who are the people that are going to not only appreciate, but also really enjoy the work enough that they're going to buy it.

I think it was somebody, maybe it was you, who said that they were selling these like cute little pins and a lot of the art teachers really liked it.
Absolutely.
That's such a good example.
Cause I even, I was saying this to you earlier, like you know, your friend's mom might appreciate your work, but you might go into your friend's home and not see artwork put up around, you know, you might be a sculptor, but knowing who might have sculptures in their home or where a brooch or a pin that you make is really important that might not be the person who's like wow that's really awesome i love that you made that but it might be someone who might not be getting your work targeted to them just because of proximity but it might be a little bit more effort on your end to find out who those people are and then target them through your marketing and your sales tactics

And so if you have a model who's wearing that nail polish and that model looks like me, it's like then you're marketing to people who are Gen X.
