no i i was curious because there was a moment there where it shifted to podium am i correct yeah is that yeah and then but i i think even there was an in-between phase where i did one of the charlie books totally independent like uh i had to hire a studio and like it was a it was a few years back but i never knew what what went south there
But as they say, negotiations broke down because he used the phrase in our conversation of, well, I'd hate to see you giving $5 blow jobs online when you can be selling books to me.
And I told Penguin that I'm cool, but Amazon wants me to write this little thing, stick that in here.
And that's when he used that line, that they didn't want me to do the Amazon book.
I had to sit down on my steps, and I was just like, what did I just fucking do? Oh, man.
Because when I first released Going Home, when I self published it, Podium had reached out to me to do the audio book and I didn't deal with them.
But then when Penguin came around, Penguin told me like, hey, we want the audio, you gotta get Podium to release it.
So I called the guys at Podium, explained to them what was happening and to their credit, this is why I have so much respect for Podium Publishing.
