Alpha Course interview

So, um, today we're going to, uh, have a bit of an Alpha taster.

Most of you may know, or many of you will, will know, that Joy and I...

I'm Andy, by the way.

This is Joy.

And, uh, we, um, we headed up, um, an Alpha earlier this year with an amazing team behind us.

We couldn't have done it without them.

Um, but we thought it might be nice to kind of just reflect back on it a little bit and let you guys know what happened over Alpha, and we're gonna meet some people who did the Alpha course as well.

And there's gonna be a little bit of a video clip.

But for those of you who don't know what Alpha is, um, maybe some of you out there that have not heard of Alpha, it's, uh, it's a international, uh, renowned kind of course that is, that takes place over 10 or 12 weeks, that looks at the essentials of the Christian faith.

And it's for people who, um, perhaps are new Christians, or people who wanna explore and find out what being a Christian is all about.

Um, and so it's a, it's a 10-week, 10 or 12-week course.

We ran it for, for 10 weeks over, um, between February and April this year, we ran the course.

And, um, so it looks at, um, various topics.

It starts off with, you know, um, is there more to life? You know, it looks at the meaning and purpose of life, why are we here kind of thing.

And then it goes on to, uh, ask the question, who is Jesus? Why did he die? How can I have faith? Those are some of the, uh, the titles of the sessions.

And then it goes on to look at, uh, other topics like prayer, um, reading the Bible, uh, the Holy Spirit, um, church, what is church all about? But, um, so that's basically what the course covers, kind of the basics, uh, of the Christian faith.

And it... as I say, it's been done by millions of people all over the world.

[laughs] And, um, we enjoyed putting it on, didn't we?

We absolutely did.

Yes.

And we had a wonderful time, um, over those, uh, 10 Wednesday evenings.

We would gather around the meal table.

That's what, uh, one of the kind of great things about Alpha is they suggest meeting around food, and we actually found that that was a really, really brilliant way to engage people-

It was.

I enjoyed that part of it very much
