A FRANK DISCUSSION ABOUT THE NWA AND THE CROCKETT CUP WITH PAUL PRATT

It's been announced that the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion, throwability Silas Mason- Oh, excuse me, quarterfinals.

Thrillbilly Silas Mason is going to go to All Japan Pro Wrestling.

Or at least the NWA World Heavyweight Champion is.

And what does that mean? I don't entirely know.

I'm not entirely sure.

But, I mean, that's big news, okay? We talked about it two years ago when EC3 brought the World Heavyweight Championship to All Japan Pro Wrestling.

It was the first time since 1989 that an NWA World Champion had defended in All Japan.

And you have to remember, at one point in time, All Japan Pro Wrestling was one of the greatest territories within the NWA.

Jack Briscoe? Who else? Jack Briscoe, the Von Erich family, Harley Race, Ric Flair, and guys like Jumbo Saruta, Giant Baba challenging for the 10 pounds of gold.

And it was a big deal.

The last person in the Jim Crockett era to defend the title in the All Japan was Ricky the Dragon Steamboat.

And he took on Tiger Mask.

So if you're telling me, and now I have to look it up because I keep forgetting the guy's name who fought EC3 for the 10 pounds of gold.

But if you're telling me that 1989, we have Ricky the Dragon Steamboat defended 10 pounds of gold in Japan, in All Japan Pro Wrestling.

And then in 2024, we have EC3 defend the title in All Japan Pro Wrestling against Ryuki Honda.

You know, that...

That was a pretty cool event that happened at the Corican Hall in Tokyo on May 29, 2024.

We're almost two years removed from that.

But now you're telling me that the World's Heavyweight Championship might come back? Well, it is going to come back to All Japan Pro Wrestling.
