You know, I'm 46, so I'm seeing a lot of this stuff, and I can't imagine for someone in recovery how confusing it must be to be bombarded with all of this information about, you know, what to eat and what you should be doing and how you should be moving and what you should do and shouldn't do, and it's coming from people who claim to be experts and people who claim to be professionals, and it's, it's really just, uh, disorientating.

When we talk about the conversation around menopause, it's always [laughs] around belly fat.

Try this intermittent fasting or taking this supplement or that supplement, and it's really filled with diet culture.

Even, I'm gonna say this, even looking at the, uh, Menopause Society, even the recommendations from national large credentialing bodies are weight-focused, and I think-

... it's so important that we recognize that such an intense focus on body weight, belly [laughs] fat, it- it's, for some people, it's gonna lead to eating disorders.

Um, and es- particularly around this age group, it's a very sensitive time, hormonal shifting, um, life is happening [laughs] things are changing.
