Billy claims Chancellor Industries for The Abbotts; Devon announces The Neil Winters College of Arts and Humanities; Nate’s hand surgery; Nick gets high, has sex with Marie, and goes back to rehab…
Turns out, Chancellor Industries had 20 years to repay the loan or the whole company would be handed right over to one of his heirs.
I mean to him, to John Abbott, but therefore his estate, and therefore the Abbotts, and therefore Billy.
That's the flaw in his thinking right there.
The tunnel vision, which I love.
I actually love that about Billy.
I could set my watch by his irresponsibility, his return to obsession, his return to addiction in a lot of ways, the thrill of power.
He just can't see beyond his own desires.
Let's play along.
Let's just suppose that a judge agreed to uphold this dusty old contract, which he has had authenticated apparently.
And let's also just pretend that no one can find any evidence that the loan was ever repaid.
Well, there are still four abbots, four heirs, not just one.
So that means, at best, Billy would be sharing that chair with three other people.
It would be just like the situation at Jabal.
It would be no different, really.
Just another Abbott family company.
Not to mention, I am still having a hard time wrapping my brain around why Jill would not want her son to know about this.
If Jill knew about this and was keeping it a secret, number one, surely she would have pursued it herself.
Surely she would have enjoyed ripping Catherine's company out from under her, if for no other reason than just to watch it happen.
And Jill was very sore about that.
She wanted to get it back.
Why would she not use this info for herself to get it? I mean, there was a point where she owned it anyway.
But...
Then, I mean, number three, if Jill didn't pursue this out of selflessness, let's say she was completely selfless, right? I still can't think of any reason why she would not want to pursue an extra inheritance for her son.
So, I mean, this is such a fun twist.
