So over that period of time, I was in a really different place in my life than I was when my dad was diagnosed and caregiving called on me at that point.
It takes... awareness on ourselves and where we are emotionally and that awareness of their emotions.
Some people feel like having a baby instantly, you know how to be a mom, right? I don't think it's any different than that.

And I'm not making excuses for myself, but after it was over, I went into the R word, you know, the regret.

And I'd like that to be mine, but it's the most human thing in the world to have a regret when you can look back and see so clearly where things went wrong.

But what happened after my mother passed surprised me because I didn't...

I didn't, like... think of all the things I'd done wrong and was really sorry for them.
