Send us a message! Deep in Michigan's forests, a strange creature is said to roam on two legs, with the head of a dog and the body of a man. Meet…
And, like, in the deep woods of Michigan, like, up past all the touristy spots, past all of civilization, really.
The little one-lane road, headlights cutting through the darkness.
There's, you know, every once in a while a deer standing just a little too close for comfort to the road.
And then you see something big move through the trees.
Maybe it's a dog, maybe a coyote, you know, something you would expect to see in the woods.
But then it steps into the road, and it's enormous.
The body is covered in dark fur, its eyes reflect your headlights, and its face looks unmistakably canine, but it's standing on two legs.
And it isn't moving like a person wearing a costume.
It moves like an animal in that kind of grace.
So you slam on the brakes and you just stare at it and it stares at you.
And then it does this weird howl that's like almost a human scream.
And at this point, having a husky in my house, I'm like, it's a husky.
But then it takes off and it disappears into the trees.
And you are just sitting there trying to convince yourself that your eyes played tricks on you and that was just a wolf and everything is fine.
But you know what you saw.
Some describe it as a werewolf.
Others insist it's something entirely different.
A creature with the head of a dog and the body of a man caught somewhere in between.
And the most interesting part or maybe ironic part of this story is that this story became famous thanks to an April Fool's joke.
Tonight, we're going to dive into the history and the stories behind this piece of regional folklore.
