Um, you know, there's a lot of things that you take away, that you can take away from this episode, and a couple things came out of this.
Number one, I enjoy the fact that this episode took a bat to all of our online theories about this show and where it was going, right? Like, I think a lot of us had a general idea of certain sort of beats that's gonna happen, but this episode in particular really kind of went...
Not kind of, it went in a different direction than what I was expecting.
Uh, I do appreciate that I was right on how this show has been operating in terms of showing, you know, the Green Lantern powers, right? I, I said it from jump that this feels like a show that's escalating towards us seeing the ring power usage in ways that keeps you engaged and wanting to see more and more.
And episode five really showed how, and showed the ring usage in a way that people, you know, have been complaining about for weeks prior and such, and they really went all out on it.
And this was something that was very earned.
It wasn't just doing it for the sake of it.
It's like, every bit of what we see with Hal using the ring and everything was great to see, you know.
Um, so there's a couple of things here.
A lot of people from since the start of this show have felt that this whole show has been a character assassination of Hal Jordan as a character.
Um, and I think this episode solidified that that's not true at all.
Uh, what we got out of this is that ultimately the Guardians have 100 per- are at 100% fault for everything that's been going on.
And it's a moment where Liana is talking to John in the bar after the dust settles from everything.
And John is sitting there, and Liana's...
You know, John is telling her, you know, "Hey, what's in the bag?" And John was like, "Yeah, your, your, you know, your past and, you know, you know, the ultimate..." Was it, trying to remember t- what she said, what he said.
It was basically like, "This is basically your past coming up to catch up with you." I'm paraphrasing this.
So basically it was the Manhunter heart that he, you know, from after he killed Zoe.
And the way in which Liana just kind of blows off on the Manhunters committing genocide on Anton's people as just a mistake, like it was just some sort of like, "Ah, you know, it's just, it's just a minor mistake.
It's just a accident." And the look on John's face is like, wow.
Like, you're not even gonna take responsibility for that.
You're, it's just whatever.
And that's really the basis of the Guardians, as I said before, is the fact that the nature of who they are, they just blow off major things that they do as just minor blips.
It's just mistakes, and not consequences of their actions and not learning from it.
Think about it.
