Um, what's, uh, Civic City?

Oh, sure.

Um, Civic City is really a community-first innovation studio, um, where we center the community, their stories, their needs, and the solutions that they come up with.

They're surviving and thriving every day and, um, experiencing life in the way, um, that's more relevant to them.

And what we do is convene partners and, um, really try to figure out how we can move things forward.

You know, there's so much going on all the time, and the question that we have is: Could things change if the right people are at the same table instead of working in isolation? So, um, for almost a year now, Civic City has been doing just that, convening people, having conversations, and developing projects, policy, platforms to move things, whether it's in public health, uh, food system, environmental health, um, even in youth and education workforce development.

Uh, really, we're just really passionate about working with the community and whatever they're going through.

Yeah

And then we will bring that together, learn from lessons in this country, the United States, and then together hopefully chart better ways of knowing together.

I think there's so many of us who are passionate about finding solutions to complex challenges.

And I think deep down, we all care about our communities and we all want to see things change and become better.

And I think for the longest, we've had this barrier of working on our own in our own spheres, whether it's academia and research where you're generating so much information, but then you're just kind of living with this information and it's not really going out.

Or on the community side where you're dealing with daily challenges and you could benefit from research and information to really accelerate the work that you're doing.

We need this connective tissue and convenings like this one create the opportunity for something like that.

I think because we've been working in silos for so long.
