So tell me the story, Brent, since you're the guest here, why don't you give us a quick little rundown about what we're talking about?
0:29
So there's a heavy duty tech out of the U.S. worked for a Freightliner dealer.
0:34
I guess he he said something that upset one of his foremans or something like that.
0:39
He recorded on TikTok and he got fired.
0:42
Right.
0:43
So I mean, I stand with him.
0:45
right is posting on tick tock worth losing your job over i mean i don't think he did anything wrong

Brent, anything left to add before we wrap this segment up?
6:51
You gu- you guys got a dream in service writers up there too, or what's the deal?
6:55
I th- I think, yeah, there is a difference between the heavy duty and automotive advisor side of things.
7:01
Our, our advisors, like Marshall, you know, working in the dealer, you know, they're there for a check-in, check-out, you know, follow up with customers on estimates, that kind of thing.
7:10
But I think there's no... ideally there's no-- 'cause in the automotive world, you'll move from technician to advisor, and you might go back to technician and, and, and that kind of thing, right? So but in our world, on the advisor side of things, there's no real technical background, I guess you could say, for our advisors, right? So yeah, so there is, there is a big, I think there is a big difference between the two.
7:33
I think the automotive world does it way better than the heavy duty world.
8:00
Do you feel like that's heavy duty?
8:01
I th- I think for the dealership side in heavy duty for trucking, yes, right? Because a lot of the big dealers, you know, we've got a customer lounge, we've got showers for drivers, right? 'Cause we know they've been on the road.
8:14
You know, there's, there's all kinds of things that, that we're doing for the better for the customer experience.
2:17
Like that's pretty gangster.
2:18
Yeah.
2:18
So it's structured very it's like all the apprenticeship programs are structured fairly similar.
2:24
They're like a three year or four year apprenticeship.
2:27
Right.
2:27
So same thing.
2:28
Like you get your on the job working hours, you go to school for eight weeks and then, you know, you know, by the end of your four years, like you said, you're going to write your your journey person exam with whatever province you're in.
4:09
Like they lose a lot of money in their obsolescence.
2:24
So that's each class that graduates
2:26
is around that? Yeah, apprenticeship in Alberta is a little bit different than, I guess, apprenticeship down there.
2:34
It's all governed by a governing body called Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
2:39
So once a year for four years in our trade, you have to go to school for eight weeks, right? Or you can challenge it.
2:46
You can, but a lot of guys just opt to go to school.
2:48
But yeah, there's some challenging that does happen.
2:50
You just challenge the exam and... after you get enough working hours, right? But yeah, we're pushing through a lot.
