GPAC Golf History10:44 – 12:16

C

Curtis AndersonHost

10:44

Yeah, absolutely.

C

Curtis AndersonHost

10:45

And then Corey, I, I've, I've just been kind of following some golf.

C

Curtis AndersonHost

10:48

I've...

C

Curtis AndersonHost

10:48

Some Morningside's doing well, and, you know, they... 'Cause, uh, were they just up in Le Mars? And I...

C

Curtis AndersonHost

10:54

You know, they just...

C

Curtis AndersonHost

10:55

They've had some really nice tournaments.

C

Curtis AndersonHost

10:56

Obviously, the more focus for golf is spring when we get to the GPAC, right?

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:02

Yeah.

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:02

The, the last couple of weeks we've had, uh, Concordia hosting a big meet in Lincoln on the men's side.

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:08

The Northwest Iowa was in the last couple of weeks up in Orange City-

C

Curtis AndersonHost

11:11

Yep

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:11

... and Sioux Center.

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:12

That was a big two days.

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:13

The first day was super windy.

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:14

Even the...

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:15

I went to the second day, and they were all a lot happier 'cause the wind-

C

Curtis AndersonHost

11:18

[laughs]

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:18

... had died down.

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:18

They could actually play some golf.

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:20

Um, and then, uh, wanna give, uh, you know, kudos out to the Lila Frommelt, uh, the Briar Cliff Women's Invite that they do every year.

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:27

It's a huge women's invite over at Two Rivers, uh, honoring Lila, of course, the longtime women's golf coach at Briar Cliff.

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:33

Always great that they can remember her and all she did for, for women's golf, 'cause she did a lot.

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:38

She was instrumental in 1995 in getting a women's golf national championship to Sioux City, Sioux Land, I guess you should say.

C

Corey WestraGuest

11:45

And, uh, a lot of people don't remember that, but it did happen.

C

Curtis AndersonHost

11:48

Yeah.
