Uh, uh, writing to me is like building a wall or something, or building a house.

It really is, uh, a kind of architectural project where you're literally building, putting, adding a, another brick each day to, to the wall and watching the wall sli- slowly rise up, uh, and, and turn into a house.

Um, and each brick represents probably about 1,000 to 1,500 words every day, and it's a discipline that I've always had and always followed, and I, I, and I...

If you, if you're writing 1,000 words every single day, you, you can write a book in, in 100 days, which is how you write two a year quite comfortably.

What, what, what I write tends to stay with a, with a few revisions probably.

Later on you might l- go back and look at it and think, "No, I could have phrased that better.

Or I've had a new idea," or, "Maybe that dialogue wasn't so perfect." But generally, I, I, I don't tend to write the whole thing in one draft and then rewrite the whole thing and agonize over it.
