Why in NATO DIANA the most effective defence accelerator out there? What does it really offer and why should you apply? In this podcast episode, Jyoti Hirani-Driver, the Managing Director of DIANA…
Jyoti Hirani-DriverGuestHostHostSo Rapid Adoption Service, I've heard about it many times with NATO DIANA, what is it and how does it work?

So the Rapid Adoption Service is our mechanism to translate game-changing technology into capability for the war fighter.

So put simply, it's a legal framework which allows us to place follow-on contracts with an innovator who has entered our DIANA Accelerator program.
Yeah.
And so you were able- You had one case we spoke about here that they were able to get money.
It was like from initiation to money was three weeks.
So-
How does that even work?
Right
That's-

We talk about rapid adoption a lot, and I always wonder, where is the rapid in that? So with this particular case, there was a great company called MyLanguage, and they innovate, uh, using a handheld translation voice-to-voice device, and it's offline.

So you can imagine how helpful that would be in a disaster zone or in a conflict.

How does a UK army officer speak to them, understand what the threat is? So that's what that capability is, and that's the sort of value it can add to the war fighter.

So in this case, we had the UK MOD JHEARTMed come to us saying, "Actually, we need this in medical emergencies, so do you have something like this?" Uh, and we looked through our cohort, right? We've been around for three years.

And we said, "Yes, there's this brilliant company, and it really fits the bill." So as soon as that request came in, we obviously connected the innovator to the end user.
