248- Widow Goal #2: Call On Your Tribe

So today's goal is call on your tribe.

What does that mean? That means the people in your life.

Like, we all need people who can support us, who can help us in our time.

And I talk about how I thought I could do it all on my own.

How many of you are like me? My mom said when I was little, I used to always say, "I do it myself.

I do it myself." [laughs] And that's kind of a lot of our attitudes, right? Like, we're just in such this crazy place.

We don't wanna bother people, all of those things.

So this one I talk about what a tribe is and how we are never meant to carry these burdens alone.

We were meant to do life together.

And I'll tell you what a tribe is.

It's more than just a group of people.

It's your lifeline.

It's your go-to group that shows up in the middle of the night when you're falling apart.

It's the friends who pray for you when you don't have the words, the family who brings a meal when you haven't eaten in days, the ones who cry with you without trying to fix it.

So I actually started putting together, um, my tribe when Luke was sick.

I mean, I've always had a lot of friends and support and a lot of things.

But as far as, like, people I could count on, I remember doing this.

This is crazy.

There's a couple things I remember doing when Luke was sick.

Now, I remember he was sick 16 and a half years.

I was 17, off and on.

But when he was really sick and I just, I had three kids.

I'm trying to get to two places at once.

We've got theater.

We've got baseball.
