WHERE I STAND with Richard French

Trump is clearly rattled and for good reason. Not only do the prediction markets and leading political pollsters predict Democrats winning back the House and now the Senate but the rout might extend…
Look at the spread in this demo in the key 17 House districts across the country.
Even among Republicans that don't identify as MAGA, nearly a quarter are planning to go across the aisle now and vote Democrat.
Another critical data point is enthusiasm, where Democrats can't wait to turn out and deliver an anti-Trump message, or Republicans aren't nearly as enthused.
But beyond the numbers, if you want clear evidence that Team Trump is petrified about a coming blue wave, listen to his obvious tells.
That Trump has changed his travel campaign schedule from the battleground states we expected a few months ago in places like North Carolina and Michigan and instead is now in what originally appeared to be safe seats in Alabama and Nebraska, that speaks volumes.
Already, with no evidence of course, Trump is calling the coming midterms corrupt and rigged.
You don't have to be a political expert, or a shrink for that matter, to immediately know that signals he knows he's in trouble and sowing baseless distrust is his go-to move when fear's bad news is in the offing.
Now this is already after he has taken the unprecedented and many would argue illegal acts of using taxpayer dollars to pay for his political ads, promising to bribe Americans with $5,000 checks if his party retains power, starting a mid-decade redistricting scam for more favorable maps, threatening to send the military or even ICE agents to polls to discourage turnout in minority communities, especially amongst Latinos, and of course, trying to ban mail-in voting altogether.
As a reminder, this is the same guy that for years has invented out of thin air supposed voting irregularities with mail-in validating.
