Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Council Speaker Julie Menin announced an expansion of a grant pilot program that aims to speed up payments for non-profits. According to Mamdani, it will eliminate nine steps, and allow up to 800 not-for-profit groups to up to $25,000 within 30 days.
Students and non-profits protested today outside of Columbia University. They were mobilized by the Women’s March gathered for a Nationwide Day of Action to stop sexual violence. This follows an alleged gang-rape at Cornell University for which survivor Jane Doe, is seeking justice. WFUV’s Gabby Macre went out to the protest and heard from women attending.
