Most people don't really think a lot about the food that they eat and what goes into this food.

So when a fish arrives on someone's plate, what has that fish actually been fed and why does it matter? It matters because our
Actually, 30% of the GHDA emissions are related to our food system, and 80% of the biodiversity loss is linked to the way we produce food, either in the ocean or through deforestation.
And Being a little bit more specific about our impact at InnovaFeed, indeed, aquaculture is both a solution, but it comes with some challenges.
70% of the carbon footprint of the salmon, the fish, the shrimps that we consume are linked to the way we feed the fish.
So I wanted to be focused on this very specific challenge and offer a new solution

And in general, the world needs a lot more protein and the traditional sources are under pressure increasingly.

Can you walk us through the problem that we have when we want to produce enough protein right now?
We all know that animal protein have a stronger footprint than the other kind of food.
I was mentioning that aquaculture is a solution because it's a way to produce more fish.
Interestingly, 20 years ago, only one fish out of five was coming from aquaculture.
We still need some marine resources to grow fish, to feed fish, either with fish meal or fish oil, which are coming from anchovies, that are fished in South America, Africa, that turn into this fish meal that are incorporated to the diet of salmon, for instance.
And this wild catch required to feed the fish are representing 30% of the global catches in the world.
With the growth of aquaculture and the fact that we cannot fish more fish in the sea and the oceans, we need new raw materials, new solutions

And in general, I think there's a growing demand for protein because more and more people focus on protein in their diet, etc.? ?
Yeah, especially in some regions of the world, in Asia, in Africa, where the consumption of animal protein is lower than in the Western world, for instance.
