Yeah, it's one that's been bouncing around for most of July, the Origin Energy data breach.

And I suppose this one really did piqued my interest because, as you mostly know, I've had experience working with an energy retailer here in Western Australia.

I think the big one around this data breach, which made it a little bit different to some of the others, is that some of the credit card details were... were breached as part of it.

So that's what some of the big concern was that obviously that can be used along with somebody's email address and other things to target people and individuals to scam them.

But also I think the timeline is From what we've heard and what Origin Energy officials have said, they first disclosed it on the 22nd of July.

But it was actually earlier in July that they were alerted to suspicious activity and whether they acted on it or whether they didn't, we're not too sure.

But at the start, they said there was a potential security issue, but nothing really major to be concerned about.

We do not believe it impacted data, including customers' credit card or bank account details.

I think the disappointing part is that they've only offered those impacted $60 in credit.
So I really want to just dial back a little bit, right? Just for the benefit of our listeners that are not in Australia.
