In this Weekly Weather Brief, hosts and meteorologists Emily Gracey and Kerrin Jeromin discuss the weather activities of this past week that caught their attention. Marathon runners continue through…
But you know, with that, I saw up in your neck of the woods some crazy flooding this past week, like Connecticut, New Jersey.
Did you see the video of the Paramus Half Marathon, New Jersey? They were running through what looked like
Some four to seven inches fell across southern Connecticut and then stretched back to Jersey as well.
And like you said, I couldn't help but see tons of flooding videos, communities, neighborhoods.
It made me feel like is nobody listening to meteorologists like this is so dangerous that they are wading through flash flood waters like that.
They come on suddenly, right? That's why it's called flash flooding because rain does come down at a very heavy pace.
And I don't know the situation of, you know, was there someone on staff or someone who would have made the call weather-wise? I don't have the full details, but it always brings that question when there are people who get caught, if you will, quote unquote caught in these types of extreme weather events.
Is there someone who is watching the weather and making the call for the safety of the people involved? So that was the first place my mind went with this.
If you happen to be listening and you know those details, please shoot us a message and let us know what the situation is there with the marathon in Jersey because we were worried about people.
Yeah, different story, though, in the Southwest, you know, they've been dealing it.
