um so let's talk a little bit more about um just the the deck business in general like how did that start like what type of projects were you getting where was you know like where was your time and how did that evolve

so at first it was kind of like a lot of uh like little odds and ends like can you build a fireplace here can you uh you know patio cover you know stuff that I've always liked working outside.

And then as I got the opportunity to build more and more decks, I think it started off like the first deck I built was my father and I built a deck at our family shore house in LBI.

But I think I built a deck for my aunt in Staten Island in New York and, you know, just started building decks here and there.

And it kind of snowballed into, and that's when I realized, I was like, this is what I want to do.

well you certainly put the reps in um i think that a lot of deck builders offer a lot of different services before they decide to niche down um so it's really interesting that you went straight to decks but it sounds like you just knew it from the beginning do you want to speak to that at all

um I think that I did, there was a couple of projects that I did that weren't decks before I really said like, all right, this is it.

I think it's kind of like a bell curve a little bit, right? Like with that whole outdoor living aspect, you know, As your business grows, you have to take on more.

If a house has a walkout basement, it's a perfect candidate to put a waterproof system and have double your usable square footage and get a dry space if you could put a dry space underneath the deck.

you're not going to have a dry space with, you know, grass or dirt underneath it.

So now there's pavers involved or concrete, you know, some sort of hardscaping.
