When most people think about wildlife conservation, they picture tropical rainforests or coral reefs, but some of the world's richest biodiversity depends on landscapes that can appear, at first glance, almost empty.

Grasslands and rangelands stretch across every continent except Antarctica.

They support billions of people, sustain some of the world's great wildlife migrations, and connect ecosystems across entire countries.
Rangelands or grasslands, areas with significant migratory species, but also areas that are exceedingly important for people and their livelihoods are found across the globe, in North America, South America, Africa, Asia.
These areas, sometimes they're called rangelands, it doesn't mean there's always grazing, but rangelands, grasslands are incredibly important both for biodiversity, particularly of migratory species, but not exclusively, as well as for people.
We need to be sure that the ecological integrity of these really important ecosystems are protected and improved and restored for the sake of the people who live there, but also for the sake of nature.
