In this solo episode of Vee the People, Veronica catches up on the Eagles, the overwhelming amount of new content to watch and consume, and the art of being a little (a lot) anxious. From pop culture…
Um, okay, [clears throat] I am trying to set an intention for this weekend.
Does anyone ever do this? I mean, I know it's kinda like something that you hear online all the time of, you know, set your intentions and blah, blah, blah.
We get it.
But sometimes I genuinely go into, um, like big weekends.
Uh, I've done this before when I go on bachelorettes because as much as I love girls trips and just girling, I very easily can get overstimulated.
And so, sometimes I think when I get overstimulated, that's when my anxiety can really, like creep out in weird ways, or I can say weird things, or I can have like weird responses to things.
My anxiety is just, she's a fully grown woman, and like, uh, she just, she's, she's here.
She's here all the time.
And so I feel like if I have like a really clear intention to fall back on, even when I'm stimming out or I'm anxious or whatever it might be, [smacks lips] um, it's just really helpful.
So, we have a really big weekend coming up, a lot of celebrations, a lot of, um, just like group situational activities, and so my intention is going to be fun, which I know sounds simple.
Um, but again, sometimes I just make it like kindness or perspective or listen or whatever it might be.
And so I think, um, for this weekend it's going to be purely fun, which if you know me, you might think that that comes naturally to me, and sometimes it does.
But sometimes my anxiety is bigger than my fun, and that's not gonna happen.
Okay? So I'm saying it right here right now.
I invite you to set an intention for your weekend, whatever that might be.
Um, also, my anxiety has truly been insane.
I'm sure it's somewhat tied to the fact that I'm luteal AF right now, but I fully convinced myself like two nights ago that I hurt my dad's feelings about something, and I had to FaceTime him like three times.
Um, have you ever seen those GIFs of Amy Poehler where she's like, "I just need you to contact me every 30 seconds and tell me everything's gonna be okay, and then I'll be fine"? And that's how I've been feeling, just like chaotic, manic energy.
So I don't know if something's going on astrologically for Aries or, [clears throat] um, if it's basically that like the world is on fire.
I did just read a study that psychological safety dips during election season, especially I would say for like the optimistic, hopeful gals.
I really do think that I am just hardwired to be hopeful, and let me tell you, in today's world, that is, um, really exhausting.
'Cause like sometimes I find myself defending things, and I, I don't even know like why it matters to me to be defending it so much, but I think it's just because I don't understand, um, like negative energy.
