So Meghan Markle has now revealed that she was warned about disturbing allegations against her father more than seven years ago and says it's the reason she has never allowed him to meet her children.

So Meghan has broken her silence after her estranged father, 82-year-old Thomas Markle, has become the subject of an investigation in the Philippines over allegations involving child sexual abuse material.

So the investigation is centering actually around allegations made by Thomas Markle Jr., which is Meghan Markle's half-brother.

And essentially what he is claiming is that he found child sexual abuse material on his father's devices when he was cleaning out one of his father's homes.

He's claiming that the material was found on computers and mobile phones stored in four large boxes and he says he reported the discovery to authorities.

Thomas Markle Sr. has strongly denied the allegations and come out and called them sick lies.

But Meghan has now revealed that she was informed of separate allegations against her father years before the investigation began.

In a statement shared with People magazine on Friday, Meghan said, I am deeply distressed at the news that has come to light in the last 24 hours.

Then Meghan went on to explain that a letter containing allegations against her father had previously been shared with her by British authorities.

In her statement, she said it made troubling and disturbing allegations against my father.

And she also directly addressed why her father has never met her children, seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet.

Megan said her decision to prevent contact was for one reason, and that was to protect them.

She also said, I trusted that the authorities were doing the same for other families too.

Megan expressed hope that justice would be served and that protecting innocent children would remain the priority.

And now British police have confirmed they received a letter containing allegations against Thomas more than seven years ago.

London's Metropolitan Police say the letter was received in January of 2019 and contained claims about alleged offending outside of the UK.

It's also being reported that Megan allegedly sent her father a letter in December of last year.

According to The Sun, Megan sent Thomas a letter while he was recovering in a Philippine hospital after having his left leg amputated.

The publication claims Megan referred to the allegations against him and told him he would never meet Archie or Lilibet.

And the son claims hospital staff delivered the letter and documented his receipt of it.

Those details are based on the son's reporting, but have not been independently authorized.

Thomas Markle has also disputed his son's account, saying the computers had been outside of his possession since he left Mexico in January of 2025.
